At Vanlife Assistant, your privacy is not just a priority — it is built into the architecture of the app itself. We do not operate servers. We do not collect your personal data. We do not have access to your information.
1. What Data We Collect
We collect no personal data.
Vanlife Assistant does not transmit your data to us. We have no database of users, no analytics platform tracking your behaviour, and no access to anything you store in the app.
2. Where Your Data Lives
All data you create in Vanlife Assistant — including trips, expenses, documents, gear manifests, and vehicle records — is stored locally on your device.
This is not a limitation. It is a deliberate design decision. Your data belongs to you.
3. iCloud Sync & Backups
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Vanlife Assistant uses Apple’s iCloud infrastructure to sync your data across your own Apple devices and provide automatic backups.
This sync happens entirely within your personal iCloud account. We have no access to it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device Settings. Your data will remain on your device regardless.
4. Encrypted Document Storage
Documents stored in the Glovebox are encrypted on your device. Even if your device were accessed by a third party, your documents are protected by this encryption layer in addition to any device passcode or Face ID you have configured.
5. Contacting Support
If you contact us via our website or help desk, we collect only your name and email address, solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is not shared with any third party and is not used for marketing purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
Vanlife Assistant uses the following third-party services:
- Apple WeatherKit — to provide weather forecasts. Requests are made on-device and are subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple CarPlay — for hands-free integration. No additional data is collected or transmitted.
- Exchange Rate Data — when online, the app fetches current currency exchange rates. No personal data is transmitted as part of this request.
We do not use advertising networks, behavioural analytics platforms, or any third-party service that collects personally identifiable information.
7. Children’s Privacy
Vanlife Assistant does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. As we collect no personal data from any user, no special handling is required.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Given our zero-collection approach, material changes are unlikely.
